Your help will be much appreciated with this. I have had recommendations for Portuguese and French. But not much yet for English or Italian. My children were not educated here, so I have no experience, BUT if you do please let everyone know by posting below.
French: On the Island of Santiago. Very popular with ex-pats.
Portuguese: also Santiago and on Sao Vicente – Cabo Verde. Both with an element of English. Email: info@epcv.cv Telefone: +238 3560611
High School: Escola Comerciale Industrial do Mindelo, Av. Dr. Alberto Leite 5, Mindelo, Cabo Verde. +238 232 1313 Has an element of English, but not fully bilingual.
Many thanks.
Yes, I think we would. Also we think with the fast pace that CV is developing there will soon be more Schools, most likely on Santiago and Sal. We would suggest they be Tri-lingual, Portuguese, Italian and English. We also suggest that although Creole is widely spoken by many and is to be respected, it is not an international language and adding other languages, especially English could be very helpful to them.
We think Cabo Verde is a great place for a second home, as an investment or to retire. But we did not think it right for our children to be educated here.
We sent them to private Schools in England, and now they have all graduated with degrees from Oxford and LSE.
One of them, our oldest son is returning to establish a Business here in Sal because he loves the people and sees many opportunities. We think he is correct and will support him all the way.
Thank you Jane. A question: was it because your children were older and approaching Uni age, and if they were younger would you have been happy to find primary Schools for them?
